Greeting
Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to be the chief director of the support. I feel as director, I have the major responsibility of unifying the Japanese Society of Intervention Cardiology and the Japanese Association of Cardiovascular Catheterization Therapeutics. Although these are not only issues we have, in order to improve our situation, I would like to suggest a several things:
1. Promote to unify the Japanese Society of Intervention Cardiology and the Japanese Association of Cardiovascular Catheterization Therapeutics.
Unfortunately, these organizations have been divided. I still remember my first board of directors as the chief when these two organizations became separated. Since then, I have felt that the unification of these two organizations is my mission. The interventional cardiology is an important treatment of the circulatory organ. However, there are many fields in this treatment, and interventional cardiology is one of them. Therefore, all doctors specialized in the intervention cardiology should be united to face its many issues. A proposal to promote to administrations dealing with carious suppliers, mass communications, establishment and the maintenance of a high specialist authorization for medicine system to support a registry study and doctor leadership based on accumulation/analysis of a clinical data. To have a management and a right to speak at other intervention groups, and communicate with foreign doctors. If we work as one unified group, we will be more effective and run more efficiently. The young doctors who do not need to participate in specific meeting should not be using the organizations expenses to attend unnecessary meetings. The first academic meeting should be informal, where everyone can voice different opinions and ideas to contribute to our organization. I believe it is important to create an environment where the members can contribute and have better understanding of each other and hence better serve our patients. Unifying various academic meetings may not be easy to achieve but I feel that it is possible within time because I have seen many changes in our field. We have great seniors in our field and with their experiences and achievements; I think we can be propelled to the future of this organization to create a Japanese Society of Intervention Cardiology that is good for all its members.
2. Complete the certified physician system to make it more acceptable.
With viewing the professional training system promoted by The Ministry of Labor and Welfare, three organizations; the Japanese Society of Intervention Cardiology, the Japanese Association of Cardiovascular Catheterization Therapeutics, and the Japanese Coronary Association have been working to establish the certified physician system. Several different kind of certified physician system exists in a country. As a result, many people may think it is worth having. One person stated, "It is just a piece of paper", and no one was able to reply to this statement. These past several years, under Mr.Kato, a previous leader, we had been listening and negotiated with other organizations to integrate the systems, but have still not be able to achieve the unification of our organizations.
3. Develop of meeting registry system and operate system.
JSIC has started a registry system this year having the ability to put various data and analysis performed. The system has shown its potential serving as an operating system as an information highway for the studies of in the field of cardiology, however the registry system still cannot be used by the majority, as for example some institutions are not able to contribute by inputting information.
4. Utilize home page as public relations and extend information to not only within the country but also internationally.
The use of the internet, the making of an effective homepage is in dire need at this day in age. Not only for the means of enhancing and enriching the studies, encouraging colleagues by sharing information, the general public, for example, for the use of our official announcement in JSIC activities, opinion advertising, and promoting globalization. Thus, the homepage must be created in Japanese and in English and the content applicable to the broader spectrum of the international public.
5. Develop JSIC Journal as a base of export from Japan to all over the world.
Even though our device may not be the latest, I am confident with the new techniques and ideas, demonstrations, and in all the research done to share with the world. Therefore, I stress the importance of having to write the material in both English and Japanese, as means of again, away of attempting to reach to the international public.
The agenda I have briefly laid is not an easy task, yet I hope to accomplish them with my best within the three years of duty. Thank you very much for your support.
